While experts estimate that there are over 10,000 apps for "mental health," there's a surprising void in quality apps to address long-term mental illness symptom and treatment management.

MindMap goes beyond asking if you're "happy" or "sad" today or offering mindfulness and meditation tips. Designed for people suffering from serious depression and anxiety, MindMap is a living record of your mental health condition. It acts as a comprehensive calendar, allowing users to gauge, log, monitor and share their specific day-to-day experiences with their illness.

Taking inspiration from menstrual tracking and physical fitness apps that track a  wide variety of lifestyle factors which can be connected to the focal condition, MindMap lets you record mental physical, social and environmental changes that may have induced or resulted from a depressive or anxious experience. Is there a correlation between your depression and how social you feel? Does your diet impact your mental health, or does what you eat changed based on how hard your illness is hitting you? Are your anxiety attacks related to your alcohol consumption? With no way to consistently monitor symptoms, these connections may never occur to you or your doctor.

Mental illness and the effects of treatment are incredibly difficult to verbalize, and over long periods of time, specific recollections become distorted. MindMap allows users to track their journey for personal reassurance, to monitor the impact and side effects of medication or treatment plans, and to share directly with their doctors or support networks.
