When was the last time you were tested for STDs?
If you're not sure, or if you haven't been tested at all, that's a problem. STDs are an epidemic in America, especially for young adults aged 15-24--the most at-risk for contraction and the least likely to have access to testing.

Gonorrhea and chlamydia, two of the most common bacterial STDs, can be detected in a urine sample and cured with a course of antibiotics in most cases. But testing for these costs a minimum of $79 from an independent testing source, and testing more than once is recommended. And while you may think you'll show symptoms if you have them, you're wrong. For gonorrhea, 80% of infected women will not show symptoms, nor will 10% of infected men. For chlamydia, 80% of infected women will similarly be symptomless, and the number jumps to 50% of infected men.

By adapting an at-home pregnancy test with bacterial detection advancements developed to determine the presence of E. coli bacteria in water, the BSTD test offers a cheap and easy way to test for gonorrhea and chlamydia. Simply purchase the test from a drug store, dip the absorbent pad into the toilet bowl after urinating, and wait for the results to develop. If the preliminary results are positive, you can go see a doctor for treatment, and if you test negative, you can rest easy.
